In-Home Newborn Session | San Francisco
There are few things in life better than those first few days with a brand new baby. While the adjustment to looking after another human life can be overwhelming, so is the love that comes along with it. This in-home newborn session with Samantha and Andrew proves exactly that! I hung out with the three of them in their San Francisco home to photograph their newborn baby boy, Henry, and it just doesn't get much sweeter than shoots like this.
It was crystal clear mere moments into the session that Samantha and Andrew are head over heels in love with each other and this life that they've made for themselves. Though this is their first baby, it seems like they’ve been at this parenting gig for years! They’ve made the transition from partners to parents seamlessly, and it was a joy getting to see the three of them interact.
The Transition to Life with a Newborn
Andrew hummed and rocked Henry every time he held him and it was just precious to see a father's love In action. While I took photos of Samantha & Henry, Andrew was kind enough to make us some avocado toast (delicious by the way!) while he waited for more family shots. He is the definition of a doting husband and father!
Samantha is such a natural at motherhood and fantastic with her sweet baby boy. She was born for this role & motherhood suits her so well. Let’s not forget the man of the hour himself, baby Henry. He has the thickest, most beautiful dark head of hair. And look at those tiny features! He’s such a handsome little guy and the newborn snuggles just never get old. Mom and dad are absolutely over the moon with their newest addition and doted on him throughout the entire session.
In-Home Session
We took several shots in Henry's space themed nursery. Samantha and Andrew’s attention to detail was evident in this labor of love, and the finished product is adorable! His nursery gets great natural light– a photographer’s dream– and we were able to work in several details from the nursery into the shots before moving to other areas of their gorgeous home. In-home sessions are incredibly personal and will be something they can look back on in the years to come as these newborn days blur into memories.
Samantha and Andrew, thank you so much for inviting me into your beautiful home to capture these sweet first days with your precious son. I had a lovely time with the three of you! Henry is in such loving, caring hands, and this little guy is going to thrive because of it. Congratulations, guys!
