Seaside Maternity Session in Carmel, CA

During the wandering artist shootout in collaboration with Diana Jex Photography and Holly with Captured Moon Photography, I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful, seaside maternity session that included Adriana, Andrew, and their little boy, Kane. These photos were taken at Ribera Beach in Carmel and we couldn't have chosen a more beautiful location for such a loving family.

I have done many sessions at Bodega Bay, which is my local go to session location because of the beauty, but Ribera Beach really showed out!

Ribera Beach Maternity 
This location holds a lot of meaning to the family.  They made a special request that we take the photos there specifically because it is a place they visit together regularly. I love that we were able to tie in something meaningful for these three to be able to look back on and remember such a special season in their life. 

Adriana was a natural in front of the lens and I had so much fun photographing her. Andrew was the picture of a supportive husband! While Adriana posed and modeled for the session, Andrew's job was to tend to sweet little Kane.  He also took photos of us while we photographed his beautiful wife and it was incredibly sweet. 

Loving Expectant Mother 

These two are such devoted and loving parents to Kane. It’s crystal clear that their new baby boy is incredibly blessed to get to join these three in a family overflowing with affection for each other. Seasoned pros at this point, Adriana and Andrew came prepared for this session with snacks, a stroller, and the coolest little cocoon sleeping bag contraption I've ever seen to keep Kane warm on that windy evening.

While the wind could be a little uncomfortable at times, I love the movement we were able to achieve with the maternity gown that Adriana wore for the session.  The dress itself was so delicate and part of the reason I chose it. It gave her this divine goddess appearance, which really is the goal with a maternity session. (Keep in mind when planning your own sessions that wardrobes are a powerful factor in your end results!) Pregnancy and the power of the female body should be celebrated! I think we were able to achieve exactly that with the photos of this glowing mama and her adorable baby bump she's sporting.

I'm incredibly proud of the work that I produced during this shootout. I hand-selected Adriana as my model as well as her wardrobe. When I tied it all together with the location they requested, we truly made something magical happen for them. I'm so excited for this family to bring in a new baby boy to join them!
