Springtime Family Session | Napa, CA
Is there anything more beautiful than the lush vibrant beauty that Spring has to offer? This Spring has been especially sweet after the long wet winter.
I first met this sweet family when their oldest son was just a wee tot. Right off the bat I fell in love with their laid back energy and unmistakable love for each other. Mom and Dad never rush or over direct their children. They let them engage with their environment and they just take things at a slower pace than most and I have to say, I love them for it!!!
This year the location I chose offered a beautiful carpet of wild yellow violets! I spotted this place while hiking with my kids and we had a magical time sending flower boats down the vernal creek and counting how many survived. I was sad the water had dried up before this session took place, but I have high hopes for shooting it again next year and making more magic. I love choosing locations that invite children to play-I feel it makes for the most natural and fun sessions. If you want my advice, let them get dirty! Expect it, embrace it! The smiles will be worth it!
I was so happy they brought their faithful and loving pup Gus! I couldn’t get enough of how easy he was to pose! He is there ‘furborn’ and it’s safe to say he has adjusted to family life with ease! He loves his boys and following them around and collecting all the pets and cuddles. Love you Gus!
It has felt so good to be behind my camera and connect with some of my most precious families this season. I don’t know what it is, but lately I’ve just been bursting with gratitude to be doing this. Thank you to everyone who has given me the opportunity to capture magical portraits of your most precious people.
