Where the Mountains Kiss the Sea
There is just nothing like your first time through pregnancy. Every pang, every kick, it’s all noteworthy. So much love is poured into this little being before they are earth side. While getting to know this adorable couple I found out Samantha trained as a ballerina, so you know I had to ask her to twirl around for me. The cutest part was watching Andrew be taken aback by her elegance and grace, while pregnant no less, it was jaw dropping. Damn, I really should have studied ballet!
Andrew was so attentive and gentle toward Samantha and her growing bump. While this session celebrated Samantha’s growing belly, it also really showcased their unique love story. I hardly had to guide them toward one another, they were already there, wrapped up in one another. This maternity session was a celebration of a precious new life they created together, nothing says romance like building a life with the person you chose.
Andrew and Samantha are from the Bay Area and I had originally planned to head south to meet them for their shoot. While discussing our location options, I found out that the Sonoma Coast was a significant place for the soon to be Daddy! During his childhood he frequented Bodega Bay with his family and has lots of precious memories there. I couldn’t have been happier to hear that. I love photographing in places that have meaning for my clients. Bodega Bay is such a magical place to photograph; the rolling golden hills, the majestic cliffs, the beautiful jewel toned ice plants, it can offer so much variety to a gallery. Coastal sessions are also a great option during the warmer summer months. Sometimes while we are having a wicked heat wave, I pack up my kids and we enjoy a foggy day to escape the heat. where the mountains kiss the sea!
The cherry on top was the perfect weather we had that night; the golden hour light and a gentle breeze to compliment Samantha’s ivory dress. It was a perfect night start to finish! Thank you Samantha and Andrew, I feel so lucky to have documented your love.
