Maternity and Newborn

I met this family in May of 2020 and I have currently photographed them 8 times!!! The first time we met was at their maternity session. They were so cute and full of anticipation as most first time parents are (I know I was). They both claimed to hate having their pictures taken…but they forgot all about that after about 10 minutes into our session and we had a great time. I was lucky enough to meet their baby at their in home newborn photoshoot just a couple months later-I left feeling like I made a couple new friends.

Now here they are, their second time through. A little calmer, just as excited and glowing with the love they share. This time I had the added bonus of capturing big brother’s excitement about welcoming his new sibling. The weather at the beach was perfect during this golden hour photoshoot. We worked together on styling and I’m really happy with how well their outfits came together. During the session we had so much fun playing games and were able to capture plenty of laughter and sweet moments to document this exciting time before baby.

During their Lifestyle Newborn shoot we really made the most of the time with big brother gave us. He’s a busy two year old now, so we took lots of breaks and just kept things light. I was impressed by how quickly Mom and Dad found their rhythm juggling a busy toddler and snuggly newborn, it felt like they had been doing it for years. Newborn life really is easier the second time through! Big brother is so in love with his new baby brother, it was such a gift to witness. I’m sure they will be best buds for years to come.

l just have to say sessions like these and families like this make my job so gratifying. I am so thankful to be able to give people the gift of freezing the special moments in their lives. Until next time M & M’s!
